turtli ("we", "our", or "us") is a mobile app that helps pairs of people stay accountable to their habits through daily check-ins and spin-wheel rewards. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights around that data.

1. What We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the app's core features:

Email address — used to create and authenticate your account
Display name — the name you choose when signing up, visible to your accountability partner
Habit check-ins — the dates and times you mark a habit as complete
Challenge data — habit names, goals, and invite codes you create or join
Photos — optional images you upload as proof of habit completion
Reward history — rewards earned via the spin wheel, tied to your challenges

We do not collect your real name, phone number, location, contacts, or any payment information.

2. How We Use Your Data

To authenticate you and maintain your account session
To display your progress and your partner's progress within a shared challenge
To store and retrieve your check-in history and reward history
To show optional proof photos attached to check-ins

We do not use your data for advertising, analytics profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.

3. Where Your Data Is Stored

All data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure in the United States. Data is protected by row-level security policies — you can only access your own data and data from challenges you are directly part of.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. The only data shared within the app is between you and the person you are paired with in a challenge — specifically your display name, check-in dates, and any proof photos you choose to upload.

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. If you request account deletion, all associated data (profile, check-ins, challenges, photos, rewards) will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and all associated data

7. Children's Privacy

turtli is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
